Ottawa: Health Minister Mark Holland says the government hopes to avoid gumming up the works of its new dental-insurance plan by gradually phasing it in through next year.
The program will start off enrolling seniors over the age of 87, and slowly expand to include all qualifying seniors, children under
the age of 18 and people with disabilities.
Holland says the plan is essential because as many as nine million Canadians don’t have private coverage.
Once eligibility is expanded to all qualifying residents in 2025, it will be the government’s largest social program
