Tel Aviv: U.S. President Joe Biden wrapped up his trip to the Middle East on Wednesday as part of an urgent mission to keep the Israel-Hamas war from spiralling into a broader regional conflict.

This comes as the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said limited humanitarian aid would be allowed into Gaza from Egypt after a request from the U.S. president.

The latest Israel-Hamas war has become the deadliest of five for both sides.

The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry says more than 3,400 Palestinians have died while more than 1,400  people have been killed in Israel.

On October 7, Hamas militants carried out barbaric attacks in Israel and abducted several people, including foreign nationals.

In retaliation, Israel has been launching rocket attacks in Gaza and has cut supply of essential items, including food, water and oil, leading to humanitarian crisis in the Hamas-ruled area.
