Vancouver: Police are looking for a Canada-wide wanted man after he failed to report at his halfway house.
The Vancouver police said 27-year-old Harjot Singh Samra was to report to his halfway house in Vancouver once he was released from prison on Thursday, but he failed to do so.
Samra is described as 5 ’9 with 252 pounds weight, and a heavy build. He has brown/black hair with a balding hairline, and brown eyes, the police said in a statement.
“He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, black shorts with white detailing, and was carrying a black duffle bag.”
Officers spotted Samra driving a vehicle near Cambie Street and Marine Drive around 6 pm on Thursday.
“Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, but Samra drove away at a high rate of speed. Investigators are now recommending several new charges of dangerous driving against him,” Vancouver police said.
According to the police, Samra is a federal offender, who has been charged for numerous drug and weapons offences.
Anyone who sees Harjot Samra, or has information on his whereabouts, has been asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
