Ottawa: The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the first-ever trade specific draw of Express Entry will be conducted this week.
The IRCC said by prioritizing the invitation of skilled newcomers with experience in the trades, it aims to meet the increasing demand for talent and fill key positions that contribute to economic growth and advancement.
According to a statement issued by the IRCC, the focus will be on candidates with trades expertise, including carpentry, plumbing, and welding, in this upcoming draw and it will help Canada’s construction sector attract the skilled talent it needs across the country.
The IRCC announced that category-based selection rounds will continue throughout the year, alongside general invitation rounds.
More details about them will be announced in the coming weeks.
