Vancouver: Vancouver Police are investigating a fatal collision reported in the past 48 hours. On Monday early morning, the crash left one Uber driver dead and seven others hurt.

The police said investigators believe the fatal collision occurred at 1:55 am on Monday when a red Cadillac struck a taxi, then broad-sided a ride-share vehicle at the intersection of Main Street and East 12 Avenue in Mount Pleasant.

“The force of the collision killed the 26-year-old Uber driver, who was alone in his vehicle. The taxi driver and two passengers were taken to hospital for precautionary reasons. The 17-year-old driver of the Cadillac and his three teenaged passengers were taken to hospital with various injuries, including broken bones,” the Vancouver Police said in a statement.

The police said the passengers of Cadillac, including driver, survived the crash.

After the crash, officers from Vancouver Police Department’s Collision Investigation Unit analyzed the collision scene and collected evidence.

Vancouver Police’s media relations officer Sgt. Steve Addison said, “Though the investigation is in its early stages, officers believe the Cadillac was traveling east on 12th Avenue, between Oak Street and Main Street, prior to the collision.”

“Investigators would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle driving in the area prior to the collision, or anyone with dash cam or home security cameras along 12th Avenue, between Oak Street and Main Street,”
