National SC panel issues third notice to Punjab government over sexual misconduct allegations against Kataruchak

Chandigarh: The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has issued a notice to the Punjab government in connection with a sexual misconduct allegations involving Punjab Cabinet Minister Lalchand Kataruchak.

NCSC Commission Chairman Vijay Sampla has given the third notice for not responding to two notices issued earlier. The notice issued by the NCSC asked the Punjab government to submit a report on the action taken in the case by June 12.

Apart from this, the statement of the victim has been directed to be recorded through video conferencing or in Delhi. It has also been asked to provide security to the victim.

The NCSC has issued a third notice to the Chief Secretary, DGP and DIG of Punjab. The first notice in the case was issued on May 5.

After this, the Punjab government constituted a three-member Special Investigation Committee on May 8, but no report was submitted to the commission by this SIT. A second notice was issued by the NCSC on May 25.
