New Delhi: Wrestlers Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia have rejoined their jobs in the Indian Railways, and some media reports claimed that wrestlers have withdrawn their protest against outgoing Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

However, rejecting the claims, both the players issued the statement.

Reacting to the news, Punia tweeted: “The reports of withdrawal of the agitation are mere rumours. These news are being spread to harm us. We have neither backed down nor have we withdrawn the agitation. The news of women wrestlers raising FIRs is also false. The fight will continue till justice is delivered.”

Similarly, wrestler Sakshi Malik tweeted, “This news is absolutely wrong. In the fight for justice, neither of us has backed down nor will we step back. Along with Satyagraha, I am fulfilling my responsibility in the Railways. Our fight will continue till we get justice. Please don’t spread any false news.”

Yesterday, protesting wrestlers had held a meeting with Union Minister Amit Shah and demanded action against Brij Bhushan.
