Chandigarh: A case has been registered against five people, including SP Investigation Gaganesh Kumar, at Kotkapura Sadar police station in Faridkot, Punjab.

All of them are accused of demanding a bribe in a murder case. The accused have been identified as DSP Sushil Kumar, SI Khem Chand Parashar, in-charge of the RTI branch of the IG office Faridkot, and two others.

According to sources, on November 7, 2019, Sant Baba Dayal Das of Gaushala Kotsukhia was murdered.

The case was registered on the complaint of Sant Gagan Dass of Kot Sukhia. A bribe of Rs 50 lakh was demanded in the name of IG Pradeep Kumar, but the deal was done for Rs 35 lakh.

Out of this, Rs 20 lakh has been taken. Now pressure is being made to take 15 lakhs, but the IG got to know about it. He immediately stopped the investigation and brought the matter to the notice of vigilance.

After this, vigilance officers from Chandigarh and Ferozepur reached Faridkot on Friday. They questioned officials for two hours in the SP office.

After this, on the recommendation of vigilance, a case was registered against the five accused at Kotkapura Sadar Police Station.

At the same time, SP Gaganesh said that he has not done anything like this. All the allegations against him are baseless.
