New Delhi: In a set back to Congress leader Jagdish Tytler, Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has approved the supplementary charge sheet against him and has also transferred it to the Special MP-MLA Court for trial.

CBI had filed a charge sheet

Earlier, the CBI had filed a charge sheet in the court against Congress leader Jagdish Tytler. The charge sheet was filed by the CBI in connection with the Pul Bangash Gurdwara fire incident during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. In April, Jagdish Tytler appeared before the CBI to give his voice sample in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.

After being summoned by the CBI to record his voice sample in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case in Pul Bangash area, the Congress leader reached the Central Forensic Science Laboratory where further action is being taken. His voice sample will be tested by the CFSL team.

According to official records, around 2,800 Sikhs across India, including 2,100 in Delhi, were killed during the riots that followed the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh security personnel.

The CBI had earlier given a clean chit to the Congress leader in the case, but resumed the probe after an order dated December 4, 2015.
