Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has once again targeted senior Congress leader and former CM Charanjit Singh Channi. In a tweet on Thursday, CM Mann wrote, “Make this information public by 2 pm on May 31, otherwise I will release the picture related to what he has claimed,” Mann said, referring to the allegations of Channi demanding Rs 2 crore from the player in lieu of a government job.
Two days ago, Mann accused Channi of corruption and said that former CM used to send players to his nephew to give them jobs in lieu of money. Referring to incident, he said that a cricketer was asked by his nephew to pay 2 crores for a job.
CM earlier said that during the Dharamsala match recently, he met a Punjab player, who told him that Channi had sent him to his nephew Honey for a job. Honey had demanded Rs 2 crore for the job.
Charanjit Channi, however, termed this allegation as baseless. He asked the CM Mann to not wait for any deadline and arrest him if he has done anything wrong.
Channi said that he did not take money from anyone for jobs or transfers either directly or through his relatives. Mann is levelling baseless allegations to frame in a fake case and arrest him.
