Chandigarh: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has responded sharply to the questions raised by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding the broadcast of Gurbani from the Golden Temple. Along with this, it has been announced that PTC’s contract is ending in July 2023 and SGPC will again open the tender for Gurbani telecast.

SGPC chief Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami attacked CM Bhagwant Mann and said that CM sometimes calling SGPC a puppet and later raises fingers on its functioning. It is an attempt to weaken the Sikh organisations.

SGPC chief admonished the Mann and said, “We all know your are a puppet of Delhi but SGPC has formed out of sacrilege and Your effort is to weaken the SGPC will be failed,” he that it is not a comedy show stage, maintain dignity of CM chair.

SGPC said that the contract with PTC began in 2007. In 2012, a new agreement was signed, in which there was talk of giving Rs 1 crore annually and the agreement was signed with an increase of 10 percent every year. Now PTC is paying Rs 2 crore for this.

Gurbani has a free telecast

Dhami said that there is a free telecast of Gurbani on behalf of PTC. No money is collected from anyone in lieu of the services provided by PTC to telecast Gurbani.

The SGPC has examined this several times and it is wrong to point out that SGPC sells the Gurbani. The contract is ending in July 2023 and new tenders will be floated soon, SGPC chief said.
