New Delhi: Karnataka’s Chief Minister-designate Siddaramaiah has been elected leader of the Congress Legislature Party. Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar arrived in Bengaluru on Thursday evening. After which a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party was held. Now at 8:30 pm, the governor will meet and stake claim to form the government.
Karnataka Congress leader Ramesh Babu said that they are meeting the Governor at 8.30 pm under the leadership of KPCC President DK Shivakumar.
“We have taken time. DK Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah and other party leaders will accompany the 20-member delegation.”
The oath will be taken on May 20.
Earlier, the Congress announced siddaramaiah as chief minister and DK Shivakumar as deputy chief minister after days of brainstorming.
Along with Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, many more ministers can also take oath. The Congress has invited leaders of like-minded parties to the oath-taking ceremony.
