Jalandhar: A youth was killed in broad daylight incident after firing between two groups outside a gym at Piplanwali in Hoshiarpur on Friday.
In the incident, a young was shot in the head and died on the spot, while another youth was injured critically and undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Jaspreet Sajan. The injured youth is Channa, a resident of Gokul Nagar. Channa also received two bullet injuries on his head. He has been admitted to a private hospital where his condition is stated to be critical.
Police said that the gang war took place over some old enmity and after some heated arguments it turned violent.
After the incident, the local police reached the spot and started investigating. Police have also recovered bullet shells from the spot.
According to the police, there was a dispute between Channa and Sajan. Both of them held a meeting in Pipalanwala to end their rivalry. Both of them reached there and instead of resolving the dispute, they engaged into a heated arguments.
Later, both groups clashed and opened fire at each other. The investigation is underway and no arrest has been made so far.
