Chandigarh: The Punjab government has set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the controversial video of cabinet minister Lal Chand Kataruchak. The Punjab government has appointed DIG Brar Range.
Narinder Bhargava has been made the head of the SIT, while SSP Gurdaspur Dayama Harish Kumar and SSP Pathankot Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh will be the members.
The team will look into the obscene video and the complaint filed by the victim. Apart from this, DIG Brar Range Dr. Narendra Bhargava has also been asked to provide security for the victim youth.
The AAP government took this decision amid increasing pressure from Governor Banwarilal Purohit and the SC/ST Commission. The SC/ST Commission has already sought a written reply from the Punjab government in this matter within 3 working days on Friday.
Earlier, on Saturday, Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit had sent a forensic report of the controversial video related to Kataruchak to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
According to the information, this forensic report states that the video was not tampered.
The Punjab Governor had sent the forensic examination report of the video and the victim’s complaint to the Chief Minister so that he could take further action.
