Toronto: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that he doesn’t expect his government to electoral reforms, even his party members are demanding a national council probe into the issue.

On this weekend, the Grassroots Liberals voted in favor of the resolution, which demanded the government to create a National Citizens Assembly on the issue of electoral reforms.

The resolution found that the idea has been in the party books since 2014 and that Trudeau won the 2015 elections with a promise to end the first-past-the-post electoral system.

Speaking to reporters in London, Trudeau said his focus right now is mostly on the economy. He said that he would definitely like to move towards electoral reforms provided there is a consensus about another model.
