Ottawa: A second strike of federal public sector union is over after Canada’s government reached with Revenue Agency. 35,000 employees of the Canada Revenue Agency were on strike, while a total of 120,000 public servants were on strike.
The strike ended with the government and the Public Service Alliance of Canada concluding the deal.
The agency and PSAC’s Union of Taxation Employees (UTE) told 4 years deal sends workers back to their jobs by 11am on Thursday.
In a statement, the PSAC said the deal could be concluded only after a consensus was reached on the salary hike. Under this agreement, it has been agreed to give a lump sum pension of $ 2500 to the employees as well as a 3.6 percent increase in the salary of the average member.
