Chandigarh: The ashes of former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal were immersed in Kiratpur Sahib on Wednesday. During this time, Sukhbir Badal, family, Manpreet Badal and senior leadership of Akali Dal reached Kiratpur Sahib in two buses.
The ashes of Parkash Singh Badal were immersed after the last prayers. After this, everyone stayed in Kiratpur Sahib for some time and listened to the Kirtan.
Meanwhile, the preparations for the last prayers to be held on May 4 have been completed. Pandals are being set up at Mata Jaswant Kaur Memorial School in village Badal to pay homage to the former CM, officials said.
The Union Minister Amit Shah along with BJP national president JP Nadda would attend the last prayers of five-time CM of Punjab.
The route plan of the program has also been released. On behalf of the local administration, full care has been taken to ensure that people coming to the village or passing through the surrounding areas do not face any problem.
The roads to Badal village will be completely closed tomorrow. It will be opened after the end of the program to avoid traffic congestion.
