Chandigarh: A case of desecration of Gutka Sahib ji has come to light in village Shahur Kalan of Gurdaspur, Punjab. The accused threw holy Sikh book on the road from his house.

Following the incident, the villagers caught the accused on the spot and informed the police. On receiving the information, the police officials reached the spot and arrested the accused Sucha Singh.

A case has been registered against him under various sections and further action has been initiated. As soon as the incident came to light, Sikh and farmer leaders reached Kalanur police station and demanded strict action against the accused.

Farmer leader Inderpal Singh said that the incident of sacrilege in Shahur Kalan village has hurt religious sentiments of the people. Therefore, he has demanded strict action from the police administration.

Local people also sought from the managing committee of Gurdwara Sahib to look into the matter so that no such miscreant can insult Guru Sahib and those who have decorated Gutka Sahib or Sri Guru Granth Sahib in their homes.
