Mississauga: The Peel Regional Police have said that investigators from the Homicide Bureau have issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant in relation to the death of a 21-year-old victim, identified as Pawanpreet Kaun from Brampton.
On December 3, 2022, the police had received information about being shot in the area of Britannia Road and Creditview Road in Mississauga around 10:40 pm.
The Peel Regional Police said the Homicide Bureau has identified the person responsible for this fatal shooting, and a Canada-wide arrest warrant has been issued for a 30-year-old Dharam Singh Dhaliwal, for the offence of first degree murder.
The police said Dharam Dhaliwal intentionally went missing in September 2022 but investigation has revealed that this was part of a plan in the murder of Pawanpreet Kaur.
“Dharam is described as a South Asian male with 5’8” height and 170 lbs weight. He has a tattoo on his left hand. Dharam Singh Dhaliwal should be considered armed and dangerous. If observed, do not approach and call the police immediately,” the police said in a press release.
Peel Regional Police strongly encouraged Dharam Dhaliwal to seek legal counsel and turn himself in. The police warned that anyone found assisting or harbouring the suspect will be charged accordingly.
“On April 18, two family members were arrested in Moncton, New Brunswick. Pritpal Dhaliwal, a 25-year-old man, and Amarjit Dhaliwal, a 50-year-old woman, were charged with Accessory to Murder After the Fact,” the press release reads.
