A video of the incident has now gone viral on the social media in which woman was seen confronting a turbaned man who barred her to enter the Sikh shrine.
Film actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee said, “For a second, I could not believe that this was happening inside the Golden Temple. It is sad to see where we are heading. But yes, we should not be worried about it,” he said.
BJP leader Tajinder Pal Bagga asked CM Bhagwant Mann to intervene and take action into the matter.
SGPC gives clarification
SGPC general secretary Gurcharan Singh Grewal asked people to not give a communal angle and said that the flag on the girl’s face was not the national flag as it did not have the Ashok Chakra. “It can also be the flag of the Congress or any other political party. However, I apologise for the man’s behaviour.”
The SGPC expresses regret if the sentiments of any devotee has been hurt due to the behavior of the employee of the committee. Devotees of all religions, every caste and every class can come to the Golden Temple from all four directions to pay obeisance and there is no restriction.
It is learned that this video is from two days ago. The girl comes to pay obeisance at the Golden Temple after watching the retreat ceremony at Attari, with a tricolour sticker on her face.
