Chandigarh: The Punjab Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have detained a lawyer practising at the District Court Kapurthala in a joint operation.
It has been learnt that advocate Rajdeep Singh had shared some content on his Facebook wall about the absconding Waris Punjab De chief Amritpal. After this, the Punjab Police and NIA have come into action and detained the lawyer.
According to sources, after detaining lawyer Rajdeep Singh, he is being questioned about his relationship with Amritpal.
After this, the District Kapurthala Bar Association has taken strong cognizance of the detention of the lawyer without any notice and lawyer’s arrest has been declared illegal.
The Kapurthala Bar Association has called for a strike terming the arrest of Rajdeep Singh, who practices in Kapurthala court, originally from village Babak (Godewala) of Dasuha sub-division of Hoshiarpur district. The Bar Association has said that no lawyer will go to the court today. No work day will be observed.
