Delta: The police have said a 15-year-old youth was injured after being stabbed in school grounds on Wednesday evening. 

According to the statement of the Delta police, officers of the Delta Police Department responded to a stabbing that occurred on the grounds of McCloskey Elementary School on Wednesday at 9:40 pm.  

The police said upon arrival, officers provided first aid to a 15-year-old victim with stab wounds. The youth was transferred to a local hospital and is in stable condition, the police added. 

Delta Police said the injuries of the victim have been classified as non-life threatening.

“The investigation has determined the victim was targeted. There is no known connection to any other high-profile assaults in the lower mainland involving youth. While the incident occurred on school grounds, there is no connection to the school,” the press release said.

“If you were driving in the area of 116th Street and 80th Avenue on April 12th between 9:20 pm and 9:50 pm and you have dash camera video, our investigators would like to hear from you,” the police said in a press release.
