Chandigarh: A bloody clash broke out on Sunday morning during the ongoing protest of the Qaumi Insaaf Front on the Chandigarh-Mohali border.
Two groups of Nihangs clashed with each other in which the hand of a Nihang Singh was reportedly chopped off. He was taken to the government hospital at Phase 6, Mohali, where he was referred to PGI after giving first aid in view of his serious condition.
Police and officials rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident. At present, the situation is normal at the spot.
Police said that there was an argument between the two sides over some trivial issue. The matter escalated so much that both groups attacked each other. Later, a Nihang was seriously injured in the attack.
Following this, morcha leaders also rushed to the spot. The injured has been identified as Babbar Singh Chandi. He is associated with Baba Amna Group. The police investigation is underway.
