Chandigarh: Senior Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu reached the house of late Santokh Singh Chaudhary today. During this time, he met the wife and son of Santokh Singh Chaudhary and shared his grief.

Accusing the AAP government, Sidhu said that in order to suppress his voice, the government deliberately delayed his release till evening, so that there would be no crowd. The government attempted to intimidate him with vigilance but they will not be able to scare him.

On the situation in Punjab, Sidhu said that today there is a rule of mafia. AAP promised to end it in a month. The promises of providing 1 lakh jobs and creating an excise corporation were also not fulfilled. A child born in Punjab is being born with a debt of one lakh and the tax money is being given to only 100 families associated with the mafia, he alleged.

Sidhu was accompanied by MLA Pargat Singh, Rajinder Beri, Bawa Henry Junior and other Congress workers on the occasion.

After the death of Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary, Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election is underway. The Congress has given ticket to Santokh Chaudhary’s wife by declaring her as its candidate.

Pertinently, Santokh Chaudhary had died of a heart attack during his Bharat Jodo Yatra with Rahul Gandhi. At that time, Navjot Singh Sidhu was lodged in Patiala jail in connection with the road rage case.
