New Delhi: Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kiran Kumar Reddy joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. He joined the BJP in the presence of national general secretary Arun Singh and Union minister Pralhad Joshi.

After joining the saffron party, he lashed out at the Congress and said, “I thank JP Nadda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Amit Shah. My family has been associated with the Congress since 1952 and I never thought I would ever leave the Congress. But the wrong decision of the Congress high command has caused a lot of damage to the party.”

“The Congress high command never took any opinion from local leaders. Never listened to anyone. It is not just about one state, but of all states. They will talk about controlling the command of all the states but will never take responsibility.”

He alleged that due to lack of dialogue, the high command does not know who should be given what responsibility. The organizational base of the party can only be strengthened only if high command talk to people and consider their feedback.

Former CM said, “The BJP had won two seats in 1984. But now, the Andhra Pradesh Congress came down from 30 per cent votes to 19 per cent. But no one in the Congress ever thinks what went wrong and where the mistake happened. They never trusted people’s verdict and rejected it. While BJP workers are constantly working on the ground. “
