Chandigarh: Former Jalandhar West MLA Sushil Rinku, who quit the Congress and joined the Aam Aadmi Party yesterday, has been nominated by the party as its candidate for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election on Thursday.

The party office has also issued a letter declaring the former MLA as its candidate. Former Congress MLA Rinku was inducted into the party by party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Rinku and AAP MLA from Jalandhar West Sheetal Angural were at loggerheads, both personally and professionally. Therefore, it is speculated that a tussle may erupt between them.

Some local workers in Jalandhar have even removed photos of CM Bhagwant Mann, party chief Arvind Kejriwal, Raghav Chadha from their offices and social media. They expressed anger over party’s this move of inducting Rinku.
