Ottawa: U.S. President Joe Biden will land in Ottawa on Thursday. In Canada, preparations are underway to welcome the U.S. President who will be on his first visit to Canada after assuming the office.
He will be accompanied by the First Lady, Jill Biden.
During his two-day visit, he will meet Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and address the House of Commons.
Joe Biden is also expected to meet Canada’s official opposition leader Pierre Poilievre.
As per information, at least seven different police and military units will patrol during the two-day visit.
According to a former police officer, extensive planning goes into during a visit of each president. He said Biden is staying overnight, which means more resources will come into effect.
On Wednesday, press briefing in the White House was focused on the president’s Canada visit. Spokesperson of U.S. National Security Council John Kirby said Canada is U.S’s one of the closest allies and the U.S. is aware of Canada’s concern about immigration. However, U.S has its own concerns as well, he added.
