Chandigarh: Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ajaypal Singh has rejected the application of former Deputy Chief Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in the area magistrate’s court here seeking copies of the challan.
Sukhbir Badal had filed an application seeking that a 7,000-page challan has been submitted by the probe team naming him in the Kotkapura firing case and he has already applied in the court of additional sessions judge for bail in the case in which he needs copies of the challan for arguments.
Opposing Badal’s application, the SIT told the court that as per law, the accused can get copies of the challan only after appearing before the court. The court refused to give copies of the challan to Sukhbir Badal at present and dismissed his application.
In the same case, the former SSP of Faridkot Sukhminder Mann has also sought copies of the challan which will be heard on Tuesday.
Similarly, the bail applications of former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal will be heard in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Rajiv Kalra on Tuesday.
