Chandigarh: The Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test has been cancelled after the correct answers were highlighted in the options given in the question paper of the Teacher Eligibility Test.

Education Minister Harjot Bains said that a committee has also been formed to investigate the whole matter. A criminal case will be registered against the guilty.

One of the four choices of questions in the social studies subject paper in the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) held on Sunday was highlighted in dark black. 60 percent of these options were found to be correct. Many examinees had raised questions on this.

Raman Kumar Malout, president of the Punjab Overage Unemployed Union, questioned whether it was a technical flaw in printing or a new trick of copying? He has also suspected the involvement of officials in this.

Education minister Harjot Bains said, “To maintain complete fairness in our examination process, a PS level probe has been ordered to look in to PSTET exam conducted by a third Party with A++ NAAC grade i.e. GNDU.

Accountability will be fixed & those found guilty will be booked for criminal negligence.”
