Chandigarh: The Jalandhar rural police have registered a case against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh for allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
Ram Rahim, who came out of jail on parole, has presented a false history about Sri Guru Ravidas Ji and Satguru Kabir Ji Maharaj on one of his channels.
Jassi Tallan, head of Sri Guru Ravidas Tiger Force, had lodged a complaint against Gurmeet Ram Rahim at Patara police station. He alleged that he had hurt sentiments by making fabricated comments about Sri Guru Ravidas and Satguru Kabir Ji. Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case against Ram Rahim under Section 295A for hurting religious sentiments.
SP Sarabjit Singh Bahia said the police have registered a case on the complaint of Jassi Tallan, head of Ravidas Tiger Force. He said that evidence of the wrong comments made along with the Jassi Tallan complaint has also been put in place. His cyber cell watching team is verifying all the facts.
The video uploaded on the YouTube channel is also being investigated. He said that a few days ago Gurmeet Ram Rahim had uploaded a video on his social media channel in which he made wrong comments about Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj and Satguru Kabir Maharaj Ji.
