New Delhi: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been sent to two-day CBI remand by a CBI court. Senior advocates Dayankrishnan and Siddharth Agarwal appeared on behalf of Manish Sisodia in the court of Special CBI Court MK Nagpal.
The CBI had again sought 3-day remand of Manish Sisodia. The CBI told the court that Sisodia was not cooperating in the investigation. Now the next hearing on bail will be on March 10 at 2 pm.
The CBI told the court that Sisodia has to be examined in front of the witnesses. Some Delhi government officials have been questioned. The conspiracy has to be investigated. There are some digital evidences, they have to be kept and questioned. The judge asked the CBI for a case diary and asked how many hours of interrogation they need? “We had a bad day due to the influence of a drug. Sisodia had demanded that medicine,” CBI told the court.
Sisodia’s lawyer said that there cannot be a ground for remand by saying that he is not cooperating in the investigation. The CBI informed the court that the recording of the entire interrogation is in the CD. The CBI informed the court that the interrogation takes place till 8 pm every day. The CBI said that some documents are missing, which have to be recovered.
Manish Sisodia’s lawyer said that until he confesses to the crime, does CBI wants custody till then? Sisodia’s lawyer said that he was not arrested for several months, now suddenly arrested and is seeking extension of remand.
“Now from where all the things suddenly started to come. We have challenged the arrest in the High Court,” he said. On this, the judge said, “Have you challenged the remand too? The court said that if you think that the remand order is wrong, then challenge it in the High Court.”
