Chandigarh: Punjabi singer Mankirat Aulakh was stopped from going to Dubai by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport in Chandigarh on Friday evening. He was going to Dubai for a show.
During this time he was also questioned by national agency for over two hours. After returning home, Mankirat Aulakh informed about the cancellation of her Dubai show through a video on social media.
According to the information received, Mankirat Aulakh was scheduled to leave Chandigarh on Friday evening to perform at the ‘V’ Club in Dubai, but when he reached Chandigarh airport for immigration, the NIA team was already present there. Mankirat Aulakh was stopped at the airport.
He was questioned by the NIA and finally his passport was returned to him late in the evening. After the flight left, Mankirat had to come back to his flat.
Aulakh apologized to his fans in Dubai. He did not explain the reason for not flying from Chandigarh on Friday, but cited the technical reason. Along with this, he told that soon he will announce new dates for this show.
Neither Mankirat nor the NIA has given detailed information about this incident. There is no clarity yet on why the NIA stopped Mankirat and in which case he was questioned.
Earlier, Mankirat was questioned by the NIA in connection with the murder of Sidhu Moosewala. Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh has suspected Aulakh’s involvement in his son’s murder case due to their old rivalry.
