Chandigarh: While lashing out at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party Government in Punjab for hiring two Delhi-based yoga instructors on hefty salaries, Punjab’s Leader of the Opposition (LoP), Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday asked: “Couldn’t he (CM) find some Punjab-based yoga instructors?”
He said that the non-Punjabis have been hired at the state-run Guru Ravidas Ayurved University in Hoshiarpur, which is an anti-Punjab move.
Bajwa also urged the Governor of Punjab, who is also a Chancellor of Punjab universities to take serious note of this.
Senior Congress Leader, Bajwa said that CM Mann has been presenting himself as a flagbearer of the Punjabi language. Meanwhile, did he check the qualifications of these two instructors before hiring them? Have they cleared a mandatory class 10 Punjabi language examination with 50 percent marks before taking the jobs in Punjab? CM owes an explanation on this.
In a statement, Bajwa cited a media report and said that Delhi-based yoga instructors Amresh Kumar Jha and Kamlesh Kumar Mishra had lost their jobs after the Board of Governors of the university allegedly refused permission to continue the ‘Dilli Ki Yogshala’ programme in November last year. “It baffles me why CM has been hell-bent on bringing Delhi’s scrap to punjab”, LoP added.
Qadian Legislator, Bajwa alleged that after permission was refused to continue with the ‘Dilli Ki Yogshala’ programme in Delhi, the AAP government launched CM’s Yogshala in Punjab just to recruit these two instructors.
“Without any doubt, they were amongst the favorites of AAP’s National Convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. As unscrupulous as it sounds, when they were expelled from Delhi, the AAP bosses sitting in Delhi ordered AAP Punjab to hire them. The AAP punjab is bound to follow the instructions of its bosses”, said Bajwa.
The opposition leader said that this is not the first time the AAP’s Punjab government had indulged in such an unethical practice. They appointed two Delhi-based bureaucrats, who were close confidants of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA). Without any authority, Arvind Kejriwal’s man Naval Aggarwal has been attending the meetings of Punjab bureaucrats. Similarly, Delhi-based Dr. Satbir Bedi, a retired IAS officer, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the PSEB.
