Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha today said the Punjab government has been forced to move the Supreme Court on the issue of convening the budget session as there was no response from the Governor on the Cabinet’s decision in this regard.

The AAP leader said the matter will be placed before the apex court on Monday. The tussle between the Mann government and the Governor had intensified on Thursday after the Punjab Governor indicated that the session would not be called.

“Based on the advice of the Cabinet, the Governor has to convene a session of the Assembly as per rules. Now we are forced to knock on the doors of the Supreme Court for permission for the budget session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. We will file a petition in the Supreme Court on this issue on Monday,” Chadha said.
