Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has been embroiled in a controversy. A video of him attending a prayer in Sector-15 of Faridabad bare-headed.
He attended an event of laying foundation stone ceremony of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Charitable Hospital. During this time, CM Manohar’s head was not covered during the prayer.
According to Sikh tradition, it is necessary to cover the head during ardas and while going to the Gurudwara. Opposition parties have strongly condemned targeting the CM for being bare-headed at the Gurudwara premises.
AAP leader Neil Garg and Akali leader Maheshinder Grewal raised questions over it. However, there has been no response yet from CM Manohar on this yet.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab spokesperson Neil Garg said it was an unfortunate incident. CM Manohar Lal should apologize for this. It is shocking that Haryana CM does not know the religious sentiments or dignity and hurtled the sentiments of Sikhs.
Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal said that CM Manohar Lal attended ardas at the gurdwara bare-headed. This brought out the truth as to why the BJP wants to take over gurdwaras. Why is he dancing at the behest of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)? BJP wants to harm Sikh traditions.
Haryana BJP spokesperson Raman Malik said some AAP leaders from Punjab were trying to spoil social harmony for cheap politics. “I humbly say that CM Khattar has gone to Gurdwara and his head is not covered due to human error. I apologise for it.”
Punjab BJP leader Harjeet Grewal said that CM Manohar Lal did not cover his head in ardas. Only he can tell why he didn’t cover his head.
“I apologise for this mistake He should not have done that. We should respect every religion. When we are sitting in high positions, our responsibility increases further.”
