Chandigarh: A video of man tied in front of a truck allegedly for wheat theft has gone viral in Punjab’s Sri Muktsar Sahib on Monday.
After this, the accused youth was handed over to the police. Passersby made a video of the young man tied in front of the truck. During this, the young man sitting next to him told the people that the accused had stolen two pieces of wheat from the truck and he was caught on the spot.
Police swung into action after video goes viral
This video of a young man being tied to a rope in front of a truck on Abohar Road is becoming fiercely viral on social media and received backlash. The incident took place around 5:30 pm on Sunday. After the video went viral, the police have also registered a case.
DSP Jagdish Kumar said that the matter is being investigated. The accused in the wheat theft is in the custody of the bus stand police outpost and action is also being taken against the truck driver who tied him to the truck, he said.
