Toronto: A woman was killed and another injured in a stabbing incident at the High Park subway station on Thursday afternoon. The injured was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.
Police arrived at the platform east of the subway station at 2:00 p.m. and said one of the suspects had been taken into custody.
The police found two women injured there. One was in his 20s and the other in his 30s. One woman succumbed to her injuries while the other is undergoing treatment at a hospital with critical injuries.
Toronto Mayor John Tory said he was “shocked” by such a violent incident.
Eyewitnesses said the stabbing incident took place on the train. “We received a tip-off that a man was walking in a fit of rage on the vehicle and was carrying a knife,” Toronto police Insp. Lori Kranenburg said. When our officers reached the spot, the man was found and taken into custody.
People have also made a video of this arrest and it is also being said that suspect was also put on a taser. There is no information on whether any charges have been imposed or not.
It is not yet known whether suspect knew the women or not or whether he came in a fit of rage and targeted anyone.
