New Delhi: The results of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections were declared on Wednesday. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won 134 seats, BJP 104, Congress 9 and Independents 3 seats.

The AAP has ended the 15-year rule of the BJP in MCD. AAP has crossed the majority mark. For a majority, a party needs to win 126 of the 250 wards in the MCD.

After winning the election, AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “We thank the people of Delhi. This is a huge victory. Many congratulations to the people of Delhi, I love you too. The people of Delhi blessed their son and brother. We have worked day and night to fix schools and hospitals.”

He said that that today the people of Delhi have given the responsibility to clean Delhi. He will never be able to repay the debt of the people of Delhi. There is an atmosphere of celebration at the AAP office in Delhi.

During this, AAP workers raised the slogan that ‘only one man can eradicate corruption, he is Kejriwal’.
