Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren warned MLA of raids before appearing before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case. Hemant Soren said that the opposition is conspiring to topple the government, which we will foil.
He said, “Today I have to go to the ED office. I have been summoned in that context. I have sent a letter to the ED as to how the mention of the Rs 1,000 crore scam that has come from Sahebganj district is unfortunate.”
Hemant Soren said that since the agency is investigating, the allegations that have been made do not seem possible from anywhere. Somewhere, the agencies should take any concrete decision or concrete allegation even after investigating.
” I am the CM, the way the summoning action is going on, it seems that we are people fleeing the country. I don’t think any leader except traders would have fled the country,” he said.
The ED has summoned Soren for questioning on Thursday in connection with a money laundering case related to alleged illegal mining in the state. Soren was initially summoned by the ED on November 3 but did not appear citing official engagements and also challenged his arrest. He had then sought deferment of the summons by three weeks.
The ED has arrested Soren’s political aide Pankaj Mishra and two others — local alleged Bachchu Yadav and Prem Prakash — in the case. The ED has said it has “detected” a crime related to illegal mining worth Rs 1,000 crore in the state so far.
