Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has sacked its senior member Bibi Jagir Kaur from the party, two days before the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President’s elections. The Akali Dal has terminated all her services from the party for her anti-party activities. She has rebelled for contesting the SGPC polls.
Bibi was waited by SAD leadership at its office in Chandigarh till 12 noon on Monday. Disciplinary committee chairman Sikander Singh Maluka, members Sharanjit Singh Dhillon and Virsa Singh Valtoha were present on the occasion. But when Bibi Jagir Kaur did not turn up, SAD’s disciplinary committee members called her twice but she didn’t respond.
Show cause notice issued
Earlier, Bibi Jagir Kaur was also served a show cause notice by SAD’s disciplinary committee, but neither did she present her side nor appeared before the disciplinary committee.
BJP-Congress leaders reach out to SAD members
Senior SAD leader Virsa Singh Valtoha said at the press conference that Bibi Jagir Kaur was indulging in anti-party activities.
Akali leaders alleged that several BJP and Congress leaders were approaching SAD leaders and luring them. Bibi Jagir is also in contact of the BJP.
