Chandigarh: Former Punjab Congress president Navjot Singh Sidhu on Friday appeared before Ludhiana court through video conferencing in connection with the CLU (Change Land of Use) scam.

According to the information, Navjot Sidhu reportedly kept turning hostile on every issues related to case during the appearance.

In this case, former DSP Balwinder Sekhon said that Navjot Singh Sidhu was first wearing prisoners’ clothes in jail. Sidhu has completely retracted the case. Sekhon said Sidhu was trying to save Principal Secretary Venu Prasad.

Sidhu responds curtly

Sekhon said that Sidhu, Ashu and Simarjit Singh Bains are being given VIP facilities in jails. Sidhu is wearing only the garb of honesty, but when it came to speaking the truth, Sidhu shut his mouth. Punjab has been looted by leaders like Sidhu. Venuprasad will be called again in the testimony. Sidhu is not even naming his PA and secretary in the court, Sekhon claimed.

Ex-minister summoned in Ashu case

The court of CJM Sumit Makkar had issued a production warrant summoning Sidhu as a witness in the case of former Congress minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu. He had filed a petition against this strictness of the court. Sidhu’s testimony was in the case of a petition filed by former DSP Balwinder Singh Sekhon against former food supply minister Ashu. Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is lodged in Patiala jail, had sought security ahead of his October 21 appearance in Ludhiana district.
