Vaughan: Outgoing mayor of Vaughan Maurizio Bevilacqua, has endorsed Steven del Duca for the post.
Bevilacqua on Thursday morning came out in support of Del Duca and unveiled a 10-point action plan for his city’s development vision.
He wrote in a statement that after serving as mayor for 12 years, he can tell that this work requires integrity, understanding and taking everyone along.
He said that after himself, he supports Steven Del Duca for this work because he has everything the experience, energy and vision for a smooth leadership for City Hall.
The action plan, released by Del Duca, called for keeping property taxes low, a government that gets people’s work done, a sense of dedication to the stability of the environment, and an end to any stagnation.
On his 62nd birthday in June, Bevilacqua announced that he didn’t want to run for re-election as mayor. The election for the mayor’s post will be held on October 24.
