Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party’s Sangrur MLA Narinder Kaur Bharaj is all set to tie the knot tomorrow. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will also attend the wedding ceremony.
MLA Bharaj will get married to a AAP worker Mandeep Singh Lakhewal in Patiala in a simple ceremony, an AAP leader said.
Bharaj, hailing from an ordinary family, contested the assembly elections for the first time and won with a record-breaking vote.
Bharaj had defeated Congress party veteran Vijay Inder Singla by a huge margin of votes. Vijay Inder Singla was a cabinet minister in the Congress and had earlier been a Lok Sabha member from Sangrur.
Narinder Bharaj defeated Vijay Inder Singla by a margin of 35868 votes.
Bharaj became the youngest MLA in Punjab at the age of 27. She filled her nomination papers on an activia scooty and even during the election campaign, she was among the common people.
She completed her LLB from Punjabi University, Patiala. Bharaj was also remained the district youth president of AAP. Bharaj lives in a joint family.
