New Delhi: Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday said he would look into allegations that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was deboarded from a Delhi-bound flight at Frankfurt airport “due to being intoxicated”. The minister emphasized that it is important to verify the facts.

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday alleged that Mann was deplaned from a Lufthansa plane at the Frankfurt airport because he was ” too drunk”. Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa has written a letter to Scindia, demanding an inquiry into the matter.

Jyotiraditya Scindia told reporters on the sidelines of an event that this alleged incident took place on international soil.

“We have to make sure that we verify the facts. It is up to airline Lufthansa to furnish the details. The request that has been sent to me, I will definitely look into it,” he said.

CM Mann returned on Monday from an eight-day visit to Germany. He went to Germany to attract investment.
