New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit in Samarkand on Friday.

Russian President Putin said during this time he knows what is the situation of India regarding the conflict in Ukraine. He also knows that India is also worried about it and he will give full information about what is happening in Ukraine.

During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to Vladimir Putin and Ukraine. “When thousands of Indian students were stranded in Ukraine during the crisis, we were able to evacuate our students with the help of Russia and Ukraine. He said that today’s era is not of war, it is of diplomacy.

“PM Modi held talks with President Putin in Samarkand. The two leaders had productive discussions on a wide range of subjects aimed at further strengthening India-Russia ties,” Prime Minister office said in a tweet.
