Ottawa: The Ontario Legislature will pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth on Wednesday. After this, the proceedings of the Assembly will be adjourned for six weeks till the municipal elections.
Members of the Provincial Parliament will gather to share their grief with the Royal family and to showcase their loyalty to King Charles.
Provincial Parliament members will also pay tribute to 48-year-old Toronto police officer Andrew Hong and 38-year-old Skil Ashraf, who were killed in a shooting by a gunman on Monday afternoon.
Several bills have been passed by MPs in the summer session of the assembly on a regular basis for the past five weeks.
These include Bill-7, which allows transfer of senior patients from hospitals to long-term care homes. This will make busy beds in hospitals empty. The second important bill was Bill 3, which talked about giving additional powers to the mayors of Toronto and Ottawa, this bill has also been passed.
