Moga: A man, accused in a rape case has died by suicide in policy custody at Sadar police in Moga on Tuesday.
According to the police, the accused Buta Singh(32), committed suicide by hanging himself in a cell. He was arrested from the railway station yesterday when he was fleeing with a girl, Nabha Sadar police station in-charge Paryanshu Singh said.
He was to be produced in court today but he committed suicide when the police force had gone to Patiala on dharna duty.
Nabha DSP Devinder Atri said there will be a judicial inquiry into the matter.
