New Delhi: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived here today on a four-day visit to further enhance overall relations between the two countries.

Sheikh Hasina will hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, after which the two sides are expected to outline measures to boost cooperation in the areas of defence, trade and river-water sharing. On her arrival in New Delhi, the Bangladesh Prime Minister was received by Union Minister Darshana Jardosh at the Palam airport.

“Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina was accorded a warm welcome by Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Darshana Zardosh on her arrival in New Delhi,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted. The visit will further strengthen the multifaceted relations between the two countries. He will visit the dargah of Sufi saint Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, Rajasthan on Thursday.

Sheikh Hasina was accompanied by Foreign Minister A.K. Abdul Momen, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Railways Minister Mohammad Noor-ul-Islam Sujan, Liberation War Minister A.K.M. Mozmal Haque and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Economic Affairs Masiur AKM. Rahman is involved.

The Bangladesh Prime Minister is scheduled to meet President Draupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar during her visit.
