Chandigarh: The condition of former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is stated to be stable. He has been admitted to PGI Chandigarh. He is under observation of a special team of doctors for the past two days.

A statement in this regard has been issued by PGI and stated the condition of the former CM as stable. The former CM was admitted to the hospital after developing a high fever. He had tested Covid-19 positive recently.

Five-time CM of Punjab

Parkash Badal has been the Chief Minister of Punjab for 5 times. In 1977, he became the CM for the first time when he was 43 years old. He has been the youngest CM of Punjab. After this he became CM in 1977, 1997, 2007 and 2012. Badal is the longest serving CM of Punjab as he remained on the top-post of Punjab for 18 years.

Badal had contested the last assembly election from his stronghold Lambi. However, he lost the election to Aam Aadmi Party candidate Gurmeet Singh Khudiyan by 11,396 votes. Badal has been an MLA for 11 times.
