Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has issued notices to serum institute of India (SII), Pune, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and the Centre in a case filed by an Aurangabad-based man, alleging that the death of his doctor daughter was due to adverse effects of the Covishield vaccine and demanded Rs 1,000 crore as compensation.
The petitioner Dalip Lunawat alleged that his 33-year-old daughter Snehal Lunawat, who was a senior lecturer at the Nashik SMBT Dental College and Hospital, was forced to take the vaccine there.
Dalip Lunawat said his daughter was assured that the vaccines were completely safe and there was no threat to her body. However, his daughter died on March 1, 2021, due to the alleged side-effects of the vaccine.
